I have designed this easy crochet bag using basic crochet stitches in US terminology of chains, single crochet and half double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall effect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you. This pattern is very easy to follow with a concise 31-page step by step guide showing large images at each step.

A front and a back section, which are identical, and a long circular piece which forms the strap. The strap wraps around both sides of the bag giving it strength and durability. For this pattern I have used a 10-ply chunky cotton/acrylic, but I have also made this bag in a 12-ply cotton, and it looks just as good but will be a little bigger.

MATERIALS YARN: I used 100% recycled cotton 200-gram yarn to complete this project. As a guide, if you were using 100g balls of yarn, I would suggest you will need 2-3 balls of the main colour and 1 ball of the contrast colour. Any yarn that is a 10-12 cotton or cotton/acrylic yarn would be suitable.

DARNING NEEDLE: Able to thread on chunky yarn and fit through bead hole to thread onto yarn.

SIZE: Overall Drop Including Handle: 66cm (This is measured with the bag flat. Strap can be adjusted as required). Width Of Bag: 42cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat). Depth Of Bag Middle: 30cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat).
