I have designed this easy crochet bag using basic crochet stitches using US terminology of chains, single crochet, half double crochets and double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall effect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you.

This pattern is very easy to follow with a concise 31-page step by step guide showing large images at each step. I have made this bag in three pieces. A front and a back section, which are identical, and a long circular piece which forms the strap. The strap wraps around both sides of the bag giving it strength and durability. For this pattern I have used a 12-ply chunky cotton/acrylic, but I have also made this bag in a 10-ply cotton, and it looks just as good but will be a little smaller.

MATERIALS Crochet Hook: METRIC: Size 6mm, USA: 10/J, UK: Size 4 Yarn: I used 6 100g balls of Moda Vera Elenna in cotton/acrylic 12 ply chunky yarn for this bag (4 x colour 1, 1 x colour 2 and 1 x colour 3). Any yarn that is a chunky 10 or 12 ply cotton or cotton blend would be suited to this project. Please take into account if you are buying a 50g ball you will need approximately 10 balls of yarn.
