I have designed this easy crochet bag using basic crochet stitches using US terminology of chains, single crochet, half double crochets and double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall effect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you. This pattern is very easy to follow with a concise step by step guide showing large images at each step.

I have designed the bag in three pieces. A front and a back section, which are identical, and a long circular piece which forms the strap. The strap wraps around both sides of the bag giving it strength and durability. For this pattern I have used a 10 ply chunky cotton/acrylic but I have also made this bag in a 12 ply cotton and it looks just as good but will be a little larger.

MATERIALS CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 5mm, USA: 8/H, UK: Size 6 I used 100% recycled cotton 200-gram yarn to complete this bag. As a guide I would suggest you will need 1-2 balls of 200-gram yarn and 3-4 balls 100-gram yarn. Any yarn that is a chunky 10-12 ply approximately in cotton or cotton/acrylic would be suited to this project. Darning needle to sew in ends.
